TEA & TISANES
Originally, tea referred to one species that was cultivated in China- camellia sinensis - and is known as a black tea shrub. For an ordinary plant, camellia sinensis has quite a few tales to tell of old worlds and new worlds, culture and customs. But it wasn't the only plant in the tea garden. Locally grown herbs have been used for teas all over the world and traded in their own way, though not as widely as black, green and oolong teas.

MATCHA BOWL
A bowl called Chawan is used for preparing and drinking tea. There are different types of designs of chawan. We particularly like Raku ware chawan bowls (Raku means "enjoyment", "comfort" or "ease") a type of Japanese pottery that has traditionally been used in the Japanese Tea Ceremony.
